WE WELCOME YOU TO THE DUDLEY HOUSE!
The Dudley House Museum is supported by a friendly, active group of docent tour guides and volunteers doing an interesting variety of projects. Help us share the Dudley family’s pioneering history by guiding tours or by greeting visitors and working in the gift shop at our First Sunday Open House (1-4 p.m.). We only ask that you guide a tour two times a year.
We also need help with gardening, building repairs and special events including our very successful annual Holiday Boutique now in its 28th year. At the boutique we especially need door greeters to hand out baskets to shoppers as we have many shifts to fill over the three weekends. Other fundraising events include our monthly plant and collectibles sales to which we invite outside vendors.
We also welcome “junior” docents to guide tours for Open House. We welcome out-going teens who are interested in Ventura County history and are comfortable talking in front of small groups. They learn some fun facts about four rooms and can guide with a friend on a 2-person team.
We have a lot of fun! We have two potluck meetings a year with amusing and interesting speakers. Our mission is to preserve, maintain and exhibit the pioneer history of Ventura County. We welcome your help!
See our website at www.dudleyhouse.org which includes a virtual tour and visit us on the First Sunday of the month (except December during the boutique) at 197 N. Ashwood Avenue in Ventura.
We are a registered non-profit 501©(3) organization with no paid staff which relies on volunteers. Donations made to San Buenaventura Heritage, Inc. are tax-deductible. More information is on our website and for inquiries on joining our group and docent/volunteer training please email us at dudleyhouseventura@gmail.com.
